Given the serious concerns associated with the risk of COVID-19 exposure and infection, the providers at UUANJ are working hard to make sure that the care of our patients is not disrupted.
For many of our patients with suspected UTI symptoms, we have started offering drop-in and pick-up urine analysis in which provides convenient, effective, and speedy diagnosis and treatment for UTI’s while avoiding crowded waiting rooms during these uncertain times. COVID-19 is at the forefront of everyone’s mind and we want you to know we are taking all necessary precautions to keep our patients and staff safe. We are following CDC guidelines, disinfecting our waiting rooms, limiting the number of patients in waiting rooms and both staff and patients are masked.
Urine will be tested by a state of the art DNA analysis which evaluates for bacteria as well as antibiotic resistance, and results are typically available within 12-24 hours (longer over weekends).
Treatment may be initiated at the time of drop off/collection and will be subsequently tailored after the specimen results have been evaluated by a specially trained provider with expertise in infections of this type.
